Creativity: The Monster That Is
Creativity is always changing. It’s beautiful and dangerous. It’s never tied down and it’s ever flowing, but do we always listen to its call? Many of us don’t like to listen to it. Or even acknowledge that it’s there. You Need to Write a Shitty First Draft
And here’s why. I remember being told in school to write a draft of an essay, story, report, whatever and I remember I hated doing it. It was the extra time that it added to an assignment that I didn’t want to do. My writing always seemed to be full of gold right off the bat…although my teachers knew otherwise. Stories have Power
I sit here and write this as rain pelts my apartment’s windows, it’s coats them with moisture and I’m reminded of the days when I used to sit at home in my room at my parents house and lie on my bed listening to the rain, thinking about the places I could be, of all of the lives I could live and the people I could be. I took a break from Writing Wednesday last week. Things were a bit hectic and I felt the need to just take a break, which is totally okay. Life gets hectic, you’re allowed to pull away and take time.
