    Writing Wednesday

I took a break from Writing Wednesday last week. Things were a bit hectic and I felt the need to just take a break, which is totally okay. Life gets hectic, you’re allowed to pull away and take time. But I haven’t been doing nothing! I’ve been playing around with a lot of the back end of things on my website. I’m tightening things here and there. My coaching packages are coming along nicely too! Today’s Writing Wednesday Prompt is all about finding that perfect spot. Where is that perfect spot you have? Did you make it? Was it made for you? Tell me about it. Send all your entires…

    Writing Wednesday

Today’s Writing Wednesday writing prompt is all about stillness. In winter we tend to start the journey inwards and try to find a calmness and a stillness within us. A lot of people set up mantras, new active routines as well as motivation. We search for the inner stillness that will help us cope with things in our lives. Sit down quietly, describe what that feels like. Now explain what happens next. Does your mind wander? Or do you find a stillness? What happens in this stillness. Write about it. Writing Wednesday

I think I’m starting to see the beauty of Winter, while I don’t like the cold, I do love being able to go inward and really start working on me. This year I’m starting to unravel the blocks I have in my life right now. They’re stopping me from really achieve what I need to be doing. But I’ll get there! Today’s Writing Wednesday prompt is about the layers of winter. It’s cold and dreary but the layers that you work through are warm and bright. Explain how you could get to them. • Characters in your Life

Characters have a funny way of getting deep into your heart and setting up shop, it’s very much like when you meet new people and they become more than an acquaintance for you. They become friends and eventually you regard your friends as the family you’ve chosen. You love your friends and if you have a healthy relationship with your friends, you’ll never fight, you’ll have arguments but they’ll ever tell you what is wrong with you in the heat of the moment and damage your relationship. They’ll raise you up and praise you and most importantly they’ll be there when you need them. Characters from your writings are very…

    Writing Wednesday

I feel that this week will be a big one and I’m cruising through it. Not quite sure how that happened, but I’m going with it. I’m writing this from my bed, because I can and I’ve been trying to catch up on all of my lost sleep. A hard feat! Today’s Writing Wednesday prompt is a fun one. And a throw back to me wanting warmth back. This chilly winter is getting the better of me. It’s time to go to the beach of the day, do you pack with you? Why do you pack what is coming with you? Feel it out. That’s right, feel it out. Don’t forget…

  • Limits: My Worst Nightmare

I feel like I’ve had a big shift happen over the last week or so. My thinking cap has been out in full force and I’ve been mulling over things that have randomly popped out into my head. A few of those have been big surprises to me. Some have been what I’ve know for a long time and I’m finally coming home to it. The biggest one it all about limits. Personal limits, writing limits, work limits, life limits.  To me, it’s a little bit daunting. I don’t work well with limits, in fact limits terrify me. They make me feel caged in and make me want to run away.…

    Writing Wednesday

I’ve been busily working behind the scenes for some really exciting things. Keep an eye out for the announcement really soon. As for today’s Writing Wednesday it’s all about winter. It’s getting bloody colder here by the day and it makes me want to curl up with a blanket, a cup of tea and good book but alas there’s much to do! Your character is forced to go outside in the chill of the early morning. What do they put on and how does it make them feel? What are their layers like? • Comparisons: A Writer’s Worst Enemy

Everyone knows all about comparisons, sometimes we get brought up with comments such as, ‘Oh that’s not what your brother does, you want to be like him don’t you?’ Our parent’s didn’t know what we now know as adults. They thought that a little bit of healthy competition was good, and it is…but when it morphs into comparison, something has gone drastically wrong. As a writer it can be paralysing. It’s a damn good worst enemy. I am lucky enough to get a chance to read some brilliant work, before anyone else. My bestie and I like to acknowledge her as my critic partner, Peta, has given me a copy…

    Writing Wednesday

I love Wednesdays! The middle of the week is here but more so Writing Wednesday has snuck up on us again. I’ve been busy writing little bits and pieces of my writing practice coaching course and jotting down great little nuggets of inspiration for my creativity workshop that’s happening later on in the year. Yay! Cleaning can be both therapeutic and annoying (ha!) what processes do you go through when cleaning and what sort of cleaning do you do? (hint: mentally, emotionally, physically).
