Writing Wednesday
I’ve been working at the show and today was supposed to be about me getting on top of things, and mostly I did, offline, so that’s something. Not long to go but I promise that thing will go back to normal real soon. Thanks for all being patient though. Here’s today’s Writing Wednesday prompt. You’re character is a fair and they spot their crush, what do they do next? Let me know what you come up with. I’ve been clearly in show mode so hence the fair prompt. I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday.

Sharing Sunday – Major Dakota’s Ghost
I really, really love everything that Susan has sent through. Note to Susan: if you have more and can share them, please do. This week’s Sharing Sunday piece is a snipper from Major Dakota’s Ghost. I think it’s brilliant, but I’ll let you be the judge of that one. Enjoy it! Major Dakota’s Ghost Commander Rocky slipped out of the Major’s office and crept silently along a dark passageway to a dungeon. He could hear muffled voices. He progressed slowly towards them to allow his eyes to adjust to the darkness. As he grew closer he could hear a man’s voice raised about the rest. “Just shut ya yapping, ya…

Writing Wednesday
So I missed Sharing Sunday, I was super busy with going to the color run with my Mum and then having my godson and his parents and grandma come over for dinner and I was busy swooning over his pretty little head that it totally slipped by me! Now that I’m back in Melbourne I’m adjusting to being back better, looking for a car and generally trying to get back on track (can you say going back to the gym hurts, ouch!) but I’m here and ready wit today’s writing prompt! Think fire, candles, pyromania. Your characters is a pyromaniac, what is three things that they would torch first…

Thirsty for Knowledge: Some Writing Pockets
I’m someone who loves to share music when I find it, or resources because I believe that everyone out there is thirsty for knowledge and they deserve things that will nourish them to the fullest which is what I’m bringing to you guys today! These little writing pockets will be a random thing that I’ll spring every now and then, as I find things, but they’ll be worth the wait. Music has always been apart of my writing process. I need it to write and when I don’t have it, nothing really makes much sense to me. I can search around for hours for the right music for the right…

Writing Wednesday
Today’s Writing Wednesday Prompt is about magic. I’m starting to watch the Harry Potter movies again (it probably means I’m about due to re-read the books but I am a snob and can’t read anything before book 3!) and all that is been on my mind is magic! So bear with me, I promise it’ll be fun. Your character wakes up in the middle of a dream, only to find out that it really wasn’t a dream. Magic is real and Harry Potter is no where in sight, what do you do? What is the first power that your character has? Have fun with it! Let me know how…

Book Review: The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Wow, I really don’t know what kept me back from actually reading this book sooner, although if I really think about it hard I can chalk it up to Uni completely consuming me, but still, I was a little silly to wait so long to get my hands on a copy of it. The cover I got, I admit, wasn’t the one that really drew me to the series initially (see a cover really does make a different), but that didn’t matter, the story made up for it. Carrie Ryan’s writing, I’ll have to admit, wasn’t one that I thought I would be initially drawn towards, but she had a…

Sharing Sunday – Slipping into Place
Firstly, Happy Father’s Day to all of the Aussies father’s out there. You deserve a day to be pampered, because you all do such great jobs. Today my koumbaro gets to celebrate his first Father’s Day with little Eli, who is just heavenly! Now onto the real reason we’re here. It’s Sharing Sunday and today I’ve got a racy piece for you. Ru is brilliant with words and I really do love reading everything of hers. She’s lent me this beautiful piece about a character that lives in her head. A dainty and hardassed sphinx. I should just warn you all it’s a little bit racy, so if you’re not…

Writing Wednesday
Today’s Writing Wednesday is a little late, I had to work at my retail job and then jump onto a bus, which I nearly missed but ran to get, to start my internship for the week which involved us finally getting somewhere! Why is it so significant to their lives? How long have they had it. Send me your tries if you want some feedback to my email. Do itttt. Don’t forget to sign up to my newsletter and check out Sharing…

Sharing Sunday – Echoes
Today’s Sharing Sunday piece is by Gabriela and it’s a poem! Yay for mixed pieces other than short stories. It’s called Echoes and when she was thinking up the poem she had a picture in her mind of a huge dark, endless empty room, and trying to put those images into words. It was only after writing the first sentence did she realise how much of a metaphor that empty room was. After that the poem became a little more personal. So without anymore waffling from me here is Echoes. Echoes There’s silence, only silence.Nothingness, and nothing more. And yet, the nothingness is crushing,And the lull, a deafening roar. There’s blackness, utter darkness And…

Writing Wednesday
I need to stop listening to music that makes me want to run away and write for days and days on ends. Today’s Writing Wednesday prompt is courtesy of an amazing song. I can’t reveal it yet because it’s being featured in a post of mine! Waiting for the End Your character is waiting at the station for their lover. It’s growing colder and darker but they refuse to leave. What is so important? Explain it. Good luck guys! Send me your tries to dreaming(at)dreamingfullyawake(dot)com or better yet supply them for #sharingsunday. Good luck! Ps if you want more great snippets of info and sneak peaks at what I’m working…
