Fully Awake Dreamer – Tahlia Meredith
I have a treat for you. This month’s Fully Awake Dreamer is a lovely lady I met this year through Bright Eyed and Blog-hearted blog course and I’m excited for you guys to meet this lovely lady. She is witty and I’m secretly (not so much now) envious of her kittens, share them! Here is the pretty lady Tahlia Meredith, make sure you click through to her great blog too! Tell us a little about yourself and what you write. I’m Tahlia, and I live in Melbourne with my Manfriend, two cats and a turtle. I have a full time job and in my spare time I love to read,…

My Playlist: NaNoWriMo Novels
Music is essential to my writing, I’ve said it before and I will happily say it again. I can write in crowded rooms without much of an issue, even really loud thumpy music, I’ve learned to tune out the whole world. I think part of that is because I’ve worked in retail for seven years with music playing for eight hours straight and I learned to block out a lot of what’s played out of necessity of being able to survive through the entire shift, or it could have been that as I was getting into reading, I was blasting the music in the background, something about silences terrifies me,…

Writing Wednesday
The last week of NaNoWriMo is here! Woohooo. It’s all about finishing off and validating. How close are you do getting there? Today’s Writing Wednesday prompt is all about finishing a race (because, seriously, NaNo is a race!) Your character has just clawed their way through to the end of the race, what happened before getting there? Why are they all bloody and looking desperately for safety? Who was chasing them? I feel like zombies are about to be taken advantage of. How cool are they? Send me a your try for a chance to get free editing!

The Finishing Point: NaNoWriMo 2014
So I finished my NaNoWriMo first draft on the 17th of November. It’s why I’ve been a little quiet. I’ve been trying to process exactly what that means to me. I wrote 95,000 words in 17 days. That’s a record for me. I completed an entire novel. It seems that when I’m given then time and the drive, I’m a pretty immersive creature and when I’m into a project, I’m all in, baby. All the way in. Narrowing my focus and taking a weekend away from all of my distractions was probably the biggest push I needed. Through aching wrist and crying knees I reached 50k in 3 and a…

Sharing Sunday – Dead on Time: Part Three
And for today’s Sharing Sunday, the last part from Danni! I hope you enjoy the last part of Dead on Time. Dead on Time: Part Three Muttering the directions that Dr. Reed had given her to his position beneath her breath, Rae tightened her grip on her metal pipe as she slowly eased open the door. She couldn’t spot any zoms in the first hallway, but that didn’t mean that there weren’t more further along the way. At that moment, Rae wished more than anything that she had one of those awesome weapons that she had always seen people carrying in the zombie movies and games. An M4, a Glock, hell,…

Writing Wednesday
Week three of NaNoWriMo. Things should be starting to pick up again. You should, hopefully, be liking your story again. I love this part of NaNo, purely because it gets fun again and you don’t think you’ve made a fool out of yourself. Today’s Writing Wednesday prompt is about loss. It also is the 7 month anniversary of my Dad passing. Miss you, Dad. Watching the news your character finds out that their best friend has just been involved in a terror attack. They were in the exact place as the exact time that the reporter has just mentioned. How does your character react? What do they do? Send me…

Sharing Sunday – Dead on Time: Part Two
And here’s part two! Dead on Time: Part Two Groaning softly, Rae pressed her hands to her temples softly, fearing to open her eyes and have any lights in the room make the pounding in her head worse. She couldn’t remember anything in the pamphlet for time travel about feeling like your head would split in two. Didn’t companies have to list side effects on shit like that? Even if it was in the fine print? And Rae would remember if it said anything, she had been sure to read the whole novel-length contract three times, and thoroughly. A low moan finally prompted her to crack open one eye, and…

Writing Wednesday
Welcome to another week. It’s Week Two of NaNo. Mostly it’s all starting to turn into you hating your writing, but keep going, it gets better. I promise! Today’s prompt is one of my favourite. Here it is: Faeries are real. They don’t have wings and they’re not made out of sugar and spice, but in fact made of lust, sex and cunningness. There are two courts, the light and the dark, your character has to decided which one they want to live in and why! Send me your attempts for a chance for free editing.

Sharing Sunday – Dead on Time: Part One
Today’s Sharing Sunday is by one of my gorgeous online friends who resides in the U S of A! Woop. Danni is a true gem, her writing is always so good and I know that whatever she comes up with is nothing short of amazing, even if she sometimes doesn’t think so! So over the next three Sunday’s you’ll be getting a snippet of her work, only because this piece is huge and I wouldn’t put you through the pain of sitting down and actually reading it all in one sitting, it’s worth it though! Here’s a little bit about the piece from Danni’s own fingers: Dead on Time originally…
