Writing Wednesday
I’m back from my holiday back home and this weeks Writing Wednesday came up from a conversation that I had with a childhood friend. As a kid I always wanted to be a teacher, there was something about it that always drew me closer, but when I realised the amount of patience I needed to not go insane, I decided against it and I’m glad I did, because if I was a teacher I wouldn’t be writing this to you guys right here!
What was your character’s (or yours) childhood dream job? Tell me all about it.
Don’t forget to send your tries to dreaming (at) dreamingfullyawake (dot) com and to subscribe to my newsletter!

Haha! I’m a Teacher’s Aid, soon-to-be studying to be a Teacher, and patience is one of the most challenging things! I wish there were a way for me to carve out a future as an author and an artist – if I could, that is what I’d do rather than teaching to be honest. I’ll keep trying in the meantime, but otherwise this is my future.
As for my character… my main character in my current work-in-progress never really had any aspirations. She knew she belonged in a different place and if she could, she would spend her whole life exploring the worlds around her. I think if she had ended up having to choose a job though, she may have chosen to be a librarian 🙂 she loves the smell of books (but really, who doesn’t?!)

That’s so crazy! Go you! I hope that it’s going well for you. I feel that a lot of writer’s want to be teachers, I think it’s the story teller in us. Or maybe that’s just me. Good luck with the patience thing too!
Ohhh librarian that’s cool. Have you heard how much study it goes into that? I want someone to write about that. Hahaha! Thanks for the comment, Milli <3
