• Creativity: The Monster That Is

Creativity is always changing. It’s beautiful and dangerous. It’s never tied down and it’s ever flowing, but do we always listen to its call? Many of us don’t like to listen to it. Or even acknowledge that it’s there. I feel that lawyers, doctors and the likes all ignore the call of creativity in favour for something that is rigid and structured, don’t get me wrong I know a lot of lawyers and doctors and the like and they LOVE what they’re doing. It gives them the same rush that I get out of sitting down and doing the work, so who am I to talk? But I really want…

  • It’s Time to Build a Great Short Story

Last week I wrote about being museless, today I’m hear to tell you, my lovely dreamers, that I wrote a short story. Last night I crept out of my room, fed up with my brother’s snoring (seriously how the hell can he keep it up ALL night?) How could I have thought of missing that? We were all chatting one of the lovely ladies gave me the best idea, she had sat down and drafted out like 50 topics she could blog on. I was like “How in the world could you have done…

  • Beat the Enemy

Procrastination is a writer’s biggest enemy. I know this so much. It took me doing another uni degree and finding a writing buddy to get me there. Don’t get me wrong. I love my novel. I love my characters and they feel like long lost friends, I know that my novel series has a exact number of books (6 if you’re wondering with 2 novellas), and I have 2 and half of those 6, already written (granted one is a very rough first draft and the other has 50k). I don’t want to part with them. A part of me is clinging onto them because I know that they will…
