Oils for Creativity

Pssst. I have a secret to let you guys into. I’ve been keeping a bit of a lid on this because I wasn’t sure how well it would work, but I’ve found some beautiful things to help me create effortlessly and stay on task. I’ve found some oils for creativity and the best bit? They actually work!

Lots of people have made the switch to natural and chemical free products in their home, I’m slowly making my way over to do that, not because everyone else is, but because it makes me feel better, my body enjoys it and my ability to sit down and write is better because I’m clearer and happier.

I was introduced to DoTERRA oils through my gorgeous friend Kylie (the other of the Kylie Squared duo) over at Be Your Radiant Self, through a whole food cleanse I did with her, where we added a little bit of Smart and Sassy into our packs. Then I begged for samples of OnGuard because I was getting so sick. All. The. Time.

But then I did a bit of researching and totally dug it. And OnGuard sold it for me, like seriously. Plus DoTERRA is a seriously a cool company, but that’s another story for another day.

I tried three amazing oil blends that I am in love with and helpful fuel my NaNoWriMo win in November and continue to be productive. So here we go.

InTune

This blend is my go-to for whenever I need to sit my butt in my chair and really get down to it, in fact it slathered over my wrists and the back of my neck right now and the strong scent of patchouli overrides my senses, but in the most delightful way possible.

This blend is specifically for picking you up and keeping you on task, it’s such a goodie, mmmm. Sandalwood, Frankincense and Lime have been hand picked to help promote clarity, I know I need a lot when I get my behind into my chair. Ylang Ylang, Patchouli and Roman Chamomile are also added into the blend because they are calming and soothing. This blend also has Amyris Bark.

If I’m having a particularly hard day I diffuse this as well, by rolling a little at the bottom of my diffuser and letting it do its thing. A must try.

Citrus Bliss

This gorgeous citrus mix is amazing and it’s hard not to fall in love with it. I am such a citrus girl, which makes it hard because diffusing citrus oils around my sidekick cat isn’t good for him, so it’s something I use if I’m in dire need of a pick me up

It’s invigorating and also a scent that helps me de-stress, because why not?

It has Wild Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Bergamot, Tangerine, Clementine and a dash of Vanilla. Just the thought of what this bad boy smells like is enough to have me reaching for the little bottle of goodness.

But the best thing about this is that if you’re having a bit of an off day you can pop it on your wrists or in your diffuser and you’ll have your spring back into your step in no time.

Motivate

Now this, this, guy is like the kapow you need to get anything done. It’s an encouraging blend and one that I like to spritz around me when I’m getting into it.

It’s also a really great blend for counteracting negativity, doubts and pessimism, which everyone knows is a writer’s worst enemy and many of us have those doubts and negative feelings.

Motivate also promotes feelings of courage, confidence and belief, because every writer needs to believe in themselves. It’s rather potent though so if you’re not a mint fan, you may need to give it a bit of a miss or use half doses.

It’s got Peppermint, Clementine, Coriander, Basil, Yuzu, Melissa, Rosemary and Vanilla, so it’s full on but it’s my go to whenever I need a little pick me up as well as help with getting my butt writing.

These oils have change the way that I work and they are so amazing. If you want to get your hands on these oils, let me know, no hassle, no stress. I’m just helping to pass along what I have used.
